Open your map up in Eschaton, find the effect called 'effects\vehicle effects\slip\ice' and duplicate it recursively.

Go to 'globals\cyborg' in Material Effects tag class and in your Reference Swapper locate the sound that goes with the material you want your footprint to appear on in-game. There will be multiple sound references for each material so make sure you find them all. Swap the nulled effects reference directly above each of the sounds for your material to the tag you duplicated 'effects\vehicle effects\slip\ice'.

Go to your duplicated effect 'effects\vehicle effects\slip\ice' and in the Reference Swapper null the single particle reference for now, you can edit it later if you wish to include things like dirt kick-up.

Go to your duplicated decal 'effects\decals\vehicle marks\ice treadmark' and while using HMT plugins for Eschaton in the Meta Editor go to 'Floats' and change 'lifetime' and 'lifetime - to' to 3.

Go to your duplicated Bitmap 'effects\decals\bullet holes\bitmaps\ice' and edit the bitmap to something resembling a footprint however keep it circular as there is no way to control which way it faces depending on direction of movement. After you finish editing you may need to scale your decal to the correct size. You can do this in the decal tag under 'radius' when using HMT plugins in the Meta Editor.
