This is beta 2.0 of the CMT Elite Playable Biped. It is an upgrade of the Elites featured in the now-defunct CMT SPV2 campaign, allowing them to be used by both players and AI and featuring most of the abilities provided by the stock Cyborg and Marine tags (and then some more). These tags are designed to be a viable replacement for the Cyborg and/or Marine, allowing users to simply plug them into their tagset, make a few changes, and be able to play any map as an Elite with accompanying first-person arms and animations, or have Elite AI allies with the same capabilities as the Marines.

This release includes:
-The bipeds and their required tags
-Numerous FP arms and animations
-Converted H2 player dialogue
-Source files (.max version 8) for the FP and 3P animations rigs used to make the animations for this project.

It also includes a handful of goodies that I have polished up for the purpose of this release, including weapons as well as a few miscellaneous addons. What follows is an abridged list of included features...

-H1 Plasma Rifle

-CMT Sentinel Beam (all tags supplied)
-CMT SMG (all tags supplied)

In the first .rar you will find the above readme, installation instructions, and the tags. The second .rar contains a test map with the new weapons in it if you just want to play around.

Finally, since these are incomplete (especially those two unskinned permutations) I'd like it if I could be alerted if there are any serious bugs. Also on that note, if anyone thinks they can finish up those skins it'd be much appreciated.

Very nice work :). Are there any normal maps and/or specular colour maps available for these? I'd be interested to see how they look using my OS shader additions.

The original version back in late 2007 (don't remember exactly) took maybe 4 or 5 days? I came back to them periodically from then until mid 2008 when Dano textured them, tweaking and redoing certain parts.

E: On another subject, I'd really, really love to get the last two armor permutations textured. It'll be small work, the models are already UV-mapped, and I can supply the original source files - any takers?

I wanna do some texture artwork! Is it because you don't know how, or you want somebody that can make it look nice? If you could give me a little tutorial how to fit a design with it, i'd like to give it a try maybe"D

Have you done this kind of work before? I'd love to let you give it a shot but I hope you know what you're getting into.

Originality pleases me. The grenade launcher is a very nice addition. Will the final product feature custom crosshairs?

Wait a minute you do know that the Battle Rifle + Grenade Launcher there has been a staple of CMT mods since 2006 right :blink:

Anyhow to answer your question: no - the idea was just to update the animations which I happened to be doing for SPV3. I'm not up for re-tagging a custom weapon on my own now that CMT is back - to me it seems like it would fall somewhere between "wasted effort" and "subverting my own team's efforts". The BR_GL animations are just being included as a bonus for anyone who uses the already-released old CMT stuff.

This is an update intented to be installed over the last tag pack release - if you don't have it, please go download it
as this update is stand-alone. However, if you do have the tags from the last tag-pack this should be able to function
perfectly on a stock tagset.

I also am going to assume that you know how to install the tags from the previous update, as the same applies to this one
and I don't really want to go to the trouble of explaining it again. Make sure that you reference the FP animations
appropriate for your FP arms (Elite or Cyborg rigs). If you're using an Elite rig, make sure that you have also selected
the appropriate Elite-specific FP model if one is required.

Please note that with the exception of the Beam Rifle there are no weapon tags in this release; if you want to use the CMT
FP models/animations with weapons I suggest you acquire one of the CMT tagset releases at:

The CMT FP stuff in this update is designed to be a supplement for people who already use those tags; I'm not going to be
