Hello Guys, I want to port Halo Custom Ed. maps on the Xbox version.
How exactly does that work? What program do I need it?

Thank you for your help, ePiX

(Excuse for my bad english, I come from Germany)

I don't recall that being possible, though I was a Halo2x modder.

(Moved this to the generation 1 forum)

I remember there was an app for that... I had it at one point but that was a long time ago. I also remember that it was a bit of a pain to use and it took a lot of trial-and-error to make things work in any sort of "correct" way.

If I recall, you can use a program developed by Halomaps called 'Arsenic' to convert Halo CE Maps to Xbox maps, but it requires a little work, patience, and smarts to adjust the tags to work properly on the Xbox version, since the Xbox maps carry partially different tags names for some of the content (An example being that in Xbox Maps, models are handled with a [mode] tag, where in PC/CE, they are handled by [mod2]).

PC also has some different ui widgets that the Xbox can't support, and it also uses uncompressed vertex buffers (where the Xbox uses compressed buffers)

Arsenic should work, it's really not that hard to use once you figure out how it works. I think it gives me error messages even when it works lol. I could upload it if anybody needs it. You do need a specific version of slimDX and that also requires DirectX if I remember right.

Maybe if I have time i'll make a tutorial for using Arsenic. I haven't touched the program in years but I was thinking I might start looking into conversions again.

Arsenic will convert maps to guerilla tags. It is a complete suite for h1xb.ox. It will also recompile from the tags aswell

For anyone still looking, I recently made a post over at Modacity.net forums: http://www.modacity....Arsenic-2.0.0.9

This is to try to distribute this program and let it be know that people CAN convert CE to XBOX, and it's fairly easy to do with this program. What I would like to see out of this is for more people in the Halo CE community to become involved with the Xbox side of Halo modding. I do not take any credit for this program, all credit goes to Luis Caicedo, the designer of the tool itself.

And for those who are too lazy to read my forum post: http://www.mediafire...l7m0wo63oh9zihd

This is for converting Halo CE to XBOX only!
