I don't know if you guys are looking for ideas or not, but I was thinking, with your custom jackals, you should make an H3 style head permutation that's random. I think it would be cool if you got the Halo 1/2 style head some of the time, and the H3 head some of the time. ALso, you should make an H1 style helmet for them.

Are you going to further optimize the game? like make NPC draw distances depending on type(On foot, In Vehicle, Hunters, etc.) Decal limit, because decals stay for a LONG time and there can be like a hundred on screen and it bogs my PC down so bad(Down to 16FPS) and it can run Crysis on medium. Any Occlusion, etc.?

WAW is the latest game I have on it, so will it work?

Question:

Minimum requirements for Halo CE SPV3

  • OS:?
  • Processor:?
  • RAM:?
  • Graphic card:?
  • Graphics card memory:?
  • Sound card:?
  • Hard drive:?

Recommended system requirements for Halo CE SPV3

  • OS:?
  • Processor:?
  • RAM:?
  • Graphics card:?
  • Graphics card memory:?
  • Sound card:?
  • Hard drive:?

This would probably make it clearer for people as the release nears.

Is there even a release date for CMT spv3? Itd likely be the dreaded "when its done".
With the requirements, halo isnt optimized, so there might be framerate drops with open sauce or large amounts of AI or stuff. On laptops the requirements would be more, as the parts are generally underclocked (worse) counterparts of the desktop cards. Im not sure it will delete decals and stuff as it goes along. With the CMT extras, they did include that you could clean the map, and there was a peformance boost. that was on a old desktop, and the difference is unseeable on my newer machine (5770? AM3? gives you an idea).

Requirements: Source - Common Sense
Minimum requirements for Halo CE SPV3

  • OS:WIN XP
  • Processor:Anything (Intel Celeron, Core 2 Duo, if its anything from 2003 or greaterish)
  • RAM:512mb
  • Graphic card: HD2000 series or greater/Nvidia geforce 8000GT series or greater
  • Graphics card memory:256mb
  • Sound card:N/A Motherboard
  • Hard drive: 10gb of free space (not that it would use this much, but leave some free)

Recommended system requirements for Halo CE SPV3

  • OS:WIN 7 (More stable?)
  • Processor: AMD 940pin (AM3) or intel core 2 duo, i3/i5/i7 or greater
  • RAM:1gb
  • Graphics card:HD3 to HD5 for ATI/200 to 500 series GT with Nvidia
  • Graphics card memory:1gb
  • Sound card:N/A
  • Hard drive:go nuts

Its not that it matters. Here are the Halo Combat Evolved requirements. They dont represent the "official" CMT spv3 requirements but idk.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829479
Halo doesnt need much, but depends how crazy the mod is. If they end up putting in a couple hundred (not that they could) AI in each firefight/ super hd textures, you might have an issue.
I dont even think it needs requirements. Just cut out things or lower settings to fit your needs. Look at the Halo CE requirements, it could run on a 5 year old computer smoothly.
Legio, your going to have to be a bit more specific with the hardware. At a guess youll be fine. Depends which settings WAW is at, its a reasonably recent game.
I dont actually have any knowledge of it. If they are willing to put out proper instructions then these are irrelevant.

As Crudeowl mentioned is occlusion possible? I have no idea on the software side. And is the antialiasing real or just a work around like morphological filtering on ATI cards?

I put WAW at pretty reasonably good settings. I might be fine(hopefully.) I don't know the specs of my comp because its been a while since we bought it, so ? I'll have a mess around.

Q: How do I know if my computer can run the mod?
A: Details regarding that will become available when it's relevant. If your computer was made some time in the last 4-5 years you should be fine.

I think you will be okay.

If you can run XP, run XP for this. I got a 20-30 fps boost switching from W7 to XP.

Hmm? Desktop. I would never diminish my Halo skills (however low they are) with a laptops retarded system.. Question: Have any of you seen that SPV2 Truth And Reconciliation released for Halomaps? Well, there were a few things wrong with it, butt here was one thing I loved so much: The colours. The marines, the Chief, and the flashlight were all rainbowey. Can joo please include teh rainbows?

LOL.
In that case the desktop should run it fine.
The rainbows, I think, were a bug. I was just playing through it and I noticed this. It "should not" (idk if they intended too, it looks like messed up stuff) be in the game lol.

Oh. I never noticed that. Was that then made by the "Community Map Team"?
I never followed the mod after it was disbanded.

First, greetings Custom Map Team. I'm new here, but I had followed your work and your mods some time ago. Once I added Masterz1337's email and chat with him. I was really sad when the SPv2 Campaign stopped... but I couldn't do anything.

I have to say, I'm not American nor British, actually I speak Spanish, and because of that, sometimes I could write
something wrong.

Well, now my question :)

Q: Although I had already did it, can I share this news in a Spanish-speaking forum, translated into that language?

Waiting for answer :D

Yeah sure, post this wherever - just link back to Halomods when you do (and try not to come off as too much of a rabid promoter)

Will you be changing any of the music? If not, how hard would this be to implement?

Like for example:
On a Pale Horse (Halo OST)
to
Behold a Pale Horse (Halo 3 OST)

Just an interesting idea (: I'm willing to make if a continuous loop of the music if that's whats needed.
