It's July 3rd already. I can't wait for it to be released, at least I can rest assure that it will be released during this month. I'm so pumped! :pbht:

For those who haven't seen -- the OP of the thread has been updated with a lot of new information on TSC:E's new, official, precise release date: August 29th.

Consequently you'll still hear not-a-lot about TSC:E until that time comes but it's soon!!

I read up on the DLMs. Does this mean we can do Day-Night through something similar to scenario_faux_zone?

no and scenario faux zones are no longer part of OS, or the switching of lightmaps.

AFAIK it's been cut, but as I've told you 10000 times, Lightmap switching was buggy and never really worked, so it's unlikely it will be re-implimented.

Together, they do the trick with respect to lightap switcvhing. Unless FireScythe can code it so you can render and not unwrap each time. Then we would have a miracle system when it comes to Day-Night, because then we could use scenario_faux and not have a proble, coupled with DLMs.

Like I have told you before, the games objects won't update when the lightmaps switch. You will have different shaded objects as you move through the map. So for example, if you have a rock, it will retain the old lighting from before the lightmap switch, and won't update until the bsp is switched or the player moves through a portal. If you want to further discuss it, PM me or bring it to the OS threads on this forum. This discussion is for TSC:E.
