Hello there, this post is especially aimed to members of CMT but anyone can comment.

So I'm aware that you guys are quite busy with SPv3 and TSC:E but I've also heard you wanted to bring something that could be playable for coop at some point, as far as I understand your current maps uses too many OS functionalities and deep hacking to work with MP, well it's not any worry with the solution I have for you guys.

Let me introduce you to my idea: Firefight ("Hey but I already know that?")

The idea would be to provide a few firefight maps that'd be designed to be mp compatible, that'd imply for you guys :

- Totally original work while still being able to recycle your assets from SPv3
(you're not doing some boring porting and have freedom to create new things)
- An occasion for you guys to use assets you obtained from the work on h2spp
(And so on not to make this feel like a disappointment for the community(at least I was disappointed))
- A new gameplay experience for H:CE
- Put to use the level design skills you guys acquired from expanding the original levels in SPv1/2/3
- Less mapping work
(The maps would be way smaller than a classic Halo level so you guys wouldn't have to work as much as you did on your previous modifications)
- Experimenting with H:CE MP possibilities
- Playerbase hype?
- ...
- Profit

So yeah basically just an idea/suggestion if you guys are still thinking about creating mp content...

Hi Idaho. Currently, Co-op will not work with MP on Halo CE. The netcode is not meant to sync AI. If you look at The Flood, The Flood part 2 and The Flood Part 3, you can see that if you are the client, you will get shot by invisible dudes. The netcode is meant to transfer data from the clients to the server side, not the other way around. Therefore, AI in MP is currently impossible.

Not to mention that all of the H2SPP assets are gone.

there are still some, but it's all ripped content and nothing CMT would ever use.

anyway, co-op is impossible to do correctly in CE.

Could still be interesting for solo content if you don't know what to do after SPv3, playing with a few AIs as an ODST squad, could be a way to have the CMT assets in something more "sandboxy" than campaign.

I'm sure some fan will make that.

Well using some parts of the maps you ported could be something you'd do? right?

We don't use anything ripped, so that means nothing at all from H2 that we haven't re-created from scratch.

Actually, to do co-op, the map would have to be converted to a multi-player map and use synchronized elements for the enemies....unless if whoever does the updates for CE adds a co-op client, it's not possible

Multiplayer maps are pretty different in how they are handled than SP. It's not an option, even if the multiplayer netcode supported it.

What if all the enemies are tagged as vehicles (that are destroyable) :o

You can't exactly do that and expect them to move around, react to environments, and shoot you. That would take some AI implementation of some sort, and then we're back at the original problem.

why do people keep posting these things?

Ur not making them work less with yo ideas. You're only making them... "invest" (that's not to say waste) their time answering the same ol' topic for the 10th time... this week.

People come here bringing "new, time-efficiente ideas", purposely knowing that their knowledge (of the thread) is more... limited... and then expect that CMT hadn't think of those same ideas? (discarting 'em while they're at it?)
