You might have a better chance pooling people together on the /r/HaloOnline subreddit. I played it the first month or two and it was amazing, but I've been waiting for 0.5.0 for way too long now. I just want in game text chat. I don't care about medals, I just want gameplay and communication and I'd be really happy with it.
  2. In Topic: Editing maps halo ce

Not to link you offsite, but here are some solid tutorials on what you're looking to do:

http://ghost.halomaps.org/tutorials/ (the MODS link are dead, click MAPS)

Best of luck, and save all your models. You can use them in current (and future) game engines. I ported all my halo map models into Unity for fun.
  3. In Topic: Curious and have a few questions (H2X)

Hey JonGod. To my knowledge, nobody ever ported H2V to Xbox. The community has plenty of capable modders but I don't think there was strong enough interest to warrant it. As for balancing the weapons, any of the available modding tools for H2Xbox can modify the damage per map. I'm unsure of a batch damage change for all maps, but I'd imagine it's in the update.xbe file, but if you're that determined, test it on one map and then you could quickly open, modify sign, save, and transfer all the maps. I don't know exact pre/post patch damages but you could experiment. I've never heard of changing number of needles to detonate, but you could decrease/increase the firing rate, or something along the lines of shooting 2 (or 3) projectiles at once so more hit the target and cause them to explode 2 or 3 times faster.

Don't expect anyone to finish your projects. There is very little motivation to mod the game anymore. Unity 5, Unreal Engine 4, and countless other game engines are free with formal/technical documentation. Port your project to that so it's actually relevant.

@RabbitFood, if it's just a bug check and is playable start to finish, what reasons are there for not releasing it? If this was a paid project, it'd make sense but if it's purely for the community, they would bug-test the hell out of it, bring to light those issues, and then you could fix them and re-release. The end-game is all the same, you'll have a polished product and so will we. I'm sure it's been answered else-where in the CMT section but is there anything the content creators are getting out of this besides a hell of a project on a resume?

The small progress being made really shouldn't be split from this 10 year old community, but at this point it really doesn't matter. I'm still online 10 hours a day across various forums and social media, I just develop in Unity now, quit playing with the Halo modding tools.

Yep, that was my first time using profile comments. Sorry for asking. I was just wondering if you've been working on any new Halo stuff. I went to dominater01's website the other night. Wondering what everybody else is working on there, too.

Don't quite understand how these profile comments work, but Winger, I haven't touched them in months, it's no secret there is maybe 5 people remotely interested and I uploaded every "major" H1 / H2 mappack I had. Uploading mine would be a nightmare at this point in time so as of now I don't have any intention of doing that. I transferred all my assets over into Unity an...

Hi, nintendo9713. How are your Mappacks coming along? And hello, Cain. How are you doing with the app? Did you get the hang of it, yet?

Question about Arsenic if you have the time. I'm getting an error whenever I run it. I have a Windows 7 based machine. It's a D3DERR error, and from what I've found online it has to do with my video card. But I've yet to find a proper method on correcting this. Any clues?
