    Hey y'all,

    Today I proudly present Skyline. Skyline is a custom map I've created in the Ivory Tower BSP. As the pictures show, Ivory Tower is almost completely erased, which allowed me to create an entirely new environment and arena on the rooftop of two custom-made buildings. This map is full of obstacles, trees, and challenges--including jumping between buildings when you're on the offensive. Skyline was created to be a small yet intense combat map. In my test trials, I have found that there are just enough obstacles to use as cover while just enough to remain non-restrictive. This symmetrical map is littered with weapons both minor and heavy. You will find each building contains the very necessary sniper rifle and rocket launcher, too. My favorite addition to the map, however, is the new flying vehicle that I have ported from Halo Custom Edition on the PC: the Wasp. This vehicle adds an entirely new perspective to this cityscape, allowing players to make flybys firing both a machine gun and secondary rocket. In the end, I have persisted in constructing a well balanced, symmetrical custom Halo 2 map. I hope you enjoy Skyline.

    Lastly, there are two versions in the file. There is an original version and a Real Time Shadows version. Some people like aesthetics and don't mind a bit of lag if the map looks better. With the Skyline (Real Time Shadows aka RTS) patch, the map has real lighting coming from the spotlights. RTS is buggy at times, but it adds a much more real environment to your map. I debated whether even creating a RTS version, but I included it only because I actually did debate this. I prefer the original. You may prefer the latter.

    I havent found any combat bugs except that sometimes you will "fall" off your Wasp while flying. The banshee barrier has tremendously helped remove the possibility of flying through the bsp and ultimately killing yourself.

    Also, CTF gametypes may not work perfectly. Territories, oddball, and King of Hill "should" work. The big issue with gametypes is the team spawning. Unfortunately for the players, I am moving on from this project in order to make a different map.

    Hey Guys!

    Today, I release something that I hope will simplify the process of making a mod. As we all know, taking up a mod is a really tedious process and just thinking about making a full mod sounds exhausting. But! I really enjoy modding! I really enjoy the aspect of designing a map: making what seemed familiar into something new. I imagine y'all enjoy that aspect a lot as well. The frustrating parts for me were getting the weapons correct. The weapons, whereas fun seeing the production stages, can be some of the most troublesome and frustrating aspects. I know modding is not the most popular thing these days, but I hope to spark some renewed interest in it. I hope that y'all may feel compelled to make some map skins or create some tactical combat situations. Whatever it is, we'll be happy to see it.

    I have released here 28 new weapons--most from Counter Strike Source. Yup, 28! All weapons are completely independent of each other--except for some minor tags (including HUD)--and almost all have custom sounds and custom HUD. I made this because I hope to simplify--in my opinion--one of the most troublesome parts of modding. I find the most pleasure in making a new atmosphere and ambiance for my maps. With these weapons, you can focus on making a new ambiance without the hassle of weapons. (Starting to sound like a TV salesman) These weapons would go really well with a simple map skin or an all out mod. Just save the meta and build!

    Steps to Use the Weapons
    1. Patch Ascension using SPPF or Serenity
    2. Open Ascension in the provided Entity 2.1.15 (thanks to troymac1ure)
    3. Go itmc tag and select the weapon you want.
    4. Select Recursive, Parsed, and Sound. Save Meta.
    5. Then open your own map and build meta!
    6. Be sure to then link the itmc in the scnr tag!
    Tweak minor variants in the weapons if interested.

    Feel free to use any or all of these weapons in your maps! Hope y'all find a good use for these!

    It's already something that I'm working towards ;)
    And they definitely pull from their community pool every now and then (the smart ones at least). I know of at least two engineers who made it into Bungie from modding/reverse engineering Bungie works (one of them being Chris Butcher).

    They prefer engineer candidates to have CS or related degrees. I can't argue with that.

    Weber State University. It has the best Engineering program around here which is what I need since I'm going into Electronics Engineering. University of Utah is also kind of out of the way for me, it has terrible parking as well :p
