    Welcome to the Coliseum! Death is imminent!

    I'm excited to present to you guys a map that I worked very hard on, but I'm also disappointed that I have to release an unfinished version of it. I have never released an unfinished mod, but it was time to unveil this map because I don't have much free time these days to delve into Halo modding and fix this baby up. In the future, I suspect I will get my hands dirty again--so this is no farewell!

    This map is a completely new map with custom models, collision, vehicles, weapons, and scenery! There are 16 new weapons, including two new grenade variants and a secret weapon accessible by a secret teleport! You know how I love my secret areas! There is also a chariot (thanks to XZodia's help), which allows you to ride the horse or stand on the back. The chariot is the unfinished part of the map--it has given me considerable amount of trouble to get right, and it still isn't anywhere near where I wanted it to be.

    I have not checked whether it is system link compatible, but I performed all the requisite procedures to enable SLC.

    I hope you'll enjoy the Coliseum!

  2. =Jurassic Ravine= by DoorM4n

    Hey Guys,

    Today I present Jurassic Ravine, an ambiance mod for beavercreek. I have always wanted to make a jungle map, but there were some technical problems with flooding a map with trees and brush. Thanks to the awesome guys at RemnantMods, we can spawn almost an unlimited amount of items. The limit is as far as the Xbox RAM and .xbe will allow, which is pretty damn far. Anyhow, I think I really pushed the limits of beavercreek in spawning over 50 palm trees, 100+ shrubs, and the giant canopy. I lost track at some point, as I was going trigger happy on adding scenery everywhere I saw empty space. Beavercreek doesn't get enough love from the modding community, and I've personally never made a beavercreek mod. As I was editing this map, it took me back to the years before advanced modding. I felt like I was modding back in the early days of Halo 2 modding. In the end, I wanted a new ambiance for beavercreek without a glamorous new custom map, and I'm very pleased at how this turned out. The high brush, palm trees, and custom jungle and temple sounds take you back to a prehistoric land. I played a slayer match on here and really enjoyed the new combat strategy that the map requires now that your enemy can trample through tall shrubbery or hide in it. But I'm a little biased. haha. Please take the time to play Jurassic Ravine, and I am confident you'll enjoy it as much as I did making it.

    Minor Bugs
    Some gameplay lag from all of the items spawned--nothing too distracting, IMO.

    It's already something that I'm working towards ;)
    And they definitely pull from their community pool every now and then (the smart ones at least). I know of at least two engineers who made it into Bungie from modding/reverse engineering Bungie works (one of them being Chris Butcher).

    They prefer engineer candidates to have CS or related degrees. I can't argue with that.

    Sorry :( - there's just a note under the section and I didn't notice it. Anyhow I've moved your thread to the Projects section.

    Weber State University. It has the best Engineering program around here which is what I need since I'm going into Electronics Engineering. University of Utah is also kind of out of the way for me, it has terrible parking as well :p
